Basic Knowledge of Power Adapter Repair Welding

1. Welding  

Appearance: There is a clear black boundary between the solder and the component leads or copper, and the solder is concave to the boundary. It does not work properly because the component leads are not cleaned well, not plated with tin, and are oxidized.  

2. Solder buildup  

Appearance: Solder joints, loose structure, white and dull. Insufficient mechanical strength and possible virtual welding. The reason is that the quality of the solder is not good, the soldering temperature is not enough, and the component lines and feet are loose and moved when the solder is not solidified.  

3. Too much or too little solder  

Appearance: The solder surface is convex, and the solder is wasted. The reason is that the solder wire is withdrawn too late, the soldering area is less than 8% of the pad, and the solder does not form a smooth surface. The mechanical strength is not enough, and the welding time is too short.  

4. The reason for the asymmetry is that the solder has poor fluidity and insufficient heating.  

5. The loose solder is not solidified, causing the components to move, and the conduction is poor or non-conductive.  

6. Bridging, pinholes, air bubbles and other undesirable phenomena.
